About Dr Joanna Lee, Neurosurgeon
Dr Joanna Lee is a highly skilled and respected Australian trained and qualified Neurosurgeon at Mater Hospital and Sydney Southwest Private Hospital.
Dr Lee is dedicated to providing advanced understanding of neurosurgical conditions and comprehensive insight into diagnosis and treatment options, as well as helping to improve the lives of her patients through innovative, compassionate care. Her interests include spinal, cranial, peripheral nerves and neuro-oncology.
She is a fellow of the RACS and member of the Neurosurgical Association of Australia.
She is also fluent in spoken conversational mandarin.
She spent 2 years in Biomedical Science at Monash University before going on to complete her undergraduate medical studies from the University of Melbourne in 2003. She then undertook Neurosurgical training in Sydney, obtaining Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS) fellowship in Neurosurgery in 2014.

Dr Lee is a clinical examiner for the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and is also a sitting member for the Clinical Examination Committee, meeting multiple times annually for review of examination results, setting of standards and development of future clinical examinations.
At Liverpool Hospital, the principal teaching hospital of the University of NSW and the University of Western Sydney, Dr Lee is currently responsible for a number of surgical registrars, junior doctors and medical students, learning from her highly regarded guidance and careful teaching.
Dr Lee attends numerous local and international medical conferences and workshops to ensure extension of skills and knowledge and also to gain insight into developments in cranial and spinal surgery.
Meticulous and thorough, Dr Lee performs monthly audits to ensure the highest standard of care for public and private patients.
